The black Volkswagen vehicle, which reportedly did not carry a disabled parking permit, was pictured parked across two accessible spaces.

The car was parked outside the entrance to a Lidl store on the Dublin Road in Co Kildare.

The image was shared on social media on Wednesday night by Twitter user Les J Matt, who wrote: “Driver no wheelchair badge parks across 2 wheelchair spaces. Lidl Kildare. Disgraceful.”

The tweet caught Lidl Ireland’s attention, and it replied from the official Twitter account by saying the Kildare management team would be alerted to the misuse of the parking spaces.

“Sorry to see this. We will be sure to pass this on to our management team in Kildare. Thanks for bringing this to our attention,” the company wrote.
