Irishman in cocaine bust
AN Irishman is among four people arrested in Lebanon in a major drugs bust after a car chase led to the seizure of more than €5.6m of cocaine.
The 33-year-old was arrested along with a Dutch man said to be a notorious drugs trafficker. A Palestinian father and son were also arrested.
Police officers chased a Range Rover and a Mercedes-Benz on Sunday, north of Beirut, after they were alerted by other units that the massive haul of cocaine was hidden in the vehicles. The suspects were taken to a police station in Beirut for questioning.
