Irishman dies in NZ crash

AN IRISHMAN has been killed and another man injured in a road crash in New Zealand.

The 23-year-old from Co Tipperary was killed when a Land Rover he was driving failed to take a bend and left the road. Another Irishman (21), also travelling in the vehicle, suffered minor injuries.

Police in New Zealand are investigating the fatal crash which occurred on a stretch of rural road at Poolburn in the Ida Valley, Central Otago.

Both men were believed to have been working in the Ida Valley.
