TWO Irish towns and one county have been voted among the best places to live in the world.
Abbeyleix in Laois, Moynalty in Meath and Wicklow took the awards at the LivCom Awards which are aimed at improving people's lives through creating "liveable" communities.
The Garden of Ireland took gold, with Abbeyleix and Moynalty taking sliver.
It is the second time that Co Wicklow has won a LivCom Award. It was presented at a ceremony in the City Fort, Al Ain City, in the United Arab Emirates to a delegation of three councillors including cathaoirleach Pat Casey and Wicklow county manager Eddie Sheehy.
"It is all about quality of life," Mr Casey said.
