The Irish Defence Forces troops serving in Syria have sent Christmas wishes home to their families and friends in Ireland.

The troops posed for photos for Fr McCabe and added an emotional note home to their families who will spend Christmas in Ireland.

Messages for wives, parents, kids, girlfriends and families are added as they smile for their loved ones at home.

This Christmas will see 416 personnel serving overseas in 15 missions across 20 different countries including Mali, Lebanon, Syria, Somalia, Bosnia, Kosovo and Afghanistan.
