Police in Greece have arrested a 52- year-old Greek man on suspicion of murdering his Irish partner and keeping her body in his Athens home for days.

It is alleged that man man killed the 48-year-old woman, who is believed to be from Northern Ireland originally.

Consular assistance is being provided to the Irish woman's family, a spokesperson from the Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed.
