Injury claims warning over 'copycat' sites

THE State's Injuries Board has warned consumers against the dangers of using "copycat" websites run by commercial services.

Injuriesboard.ie said con- sumers could pay unnecessary legal fees if they used commercial services involving a solicitor for injury claims.

The board has launched a revamped website featuring an easier-to-use application system where consumers can lodge an injury claim for €45.

It warned consumers: "If you want to use a solicitor, that's your choice, but we have had cases where people thought they were going on our site and ended up being referred to a solicitor."

Claimants can log on to the correct site at www.injuriesboard.ie or contact its helpline at 1890 829 121.
