THE family of Chris De Burgh will be sending Christmas wishes to the tree surgeon who had to be airlifted from their home after being injured in their garden.
Emergency services were called to the 'Lady in Red' singer's Wicklow home after Ritchie O'Toole, an employee of Djouce Tree Services, suffered a gash on his leg from a chainsaw while working on the star's 29-acre estate.
He was then brought to Tallaght Hospital, where he received stitches. He has since been released from hospital.
Rosanna Davison, the model daughter of singer Chris De Burgh (pictured right), told the Irish Independent that her mother Diane was at home at the time and dealt with the situation.
"I wasn't there and neither was Dad. He was out of the country working.
"I was very sorry to hear it because I know the man is a father of two kids," she said.
She added: "We'll definitely be sending him a Christmas card with well wishes and hopefully there'll be no more accidents at our house."
