THE wife of broadcaster George Hook has retired from Trinity College after 40 years in service – but she has no intention of closing the door behind her to the university's School of Pharmacy.
Ingrid Hook, often referred to as "the lovely Ingrid" on air by her other half, said one of the things she's most looking forward to with the change is spending more time with her family and six grandchildren.
But the lecturer told the Irish Independent that she would remain in an active role at the school and would still dedicate time to research. "I'm retiring financially so to speak, but still maintaining an active part at the college," she said.
Mrs Hook and fellow academics John Clancy, Des Corrigan and Owen Corrigan were toasted at a special ceremony last night where their contributions to the college were praised.
