Industrial rows at record high
THE chief state mediation body struggled with the highest level of employment disputes in its history last year. The Labour Relations Commission (LRC) handled a record of nearly 17,000 disputes during the year.
Resolving these rows helped promote a peaceful industrial relations climate, as there were just 14 industrial disputes that led to work stoppages.
Chief executive Kieran Mulvey said this was in sharp contrast to other larger European economies.
