Incidents force safety changes at airport
NEW safety procedures including the closure of two taxiways have been introduced at Dublin Airport after two Ryanair jet's clipped each other in a ground incident earlier this month.
The two planes were travelling along the taxiways, which link the runways to the terminals and facilities, when the first aircraft reported there may have been contact from another plane.
The incident happened at the same location at a similar event last October.
The day after the incident the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) brought in the interim safety recommendation from the Air Accident Investigation Unit (AAIU) to withdraw the two taxiways from service. The AAIU said the investigation was ongoing.
