Due to the difficulties with aviation travel in Ireland and across Europe the Irish Maritime Development Office has today advised passengers of alternative ferry passenger services available from Ireland.
The office says there are six operators offering direct passenger services from five ports in Ireland to nine ports in the United Kingdom, giving an average of sixty sailings each day.
The IMDO also said additional sailings have been added from Cork to Swansea.
There are also three operators providing direct passenger services from Ireland to France, with seven sailings per week to Cherbourg and Roscoff in the north of France, the office said.
"Passengers should check directly with all shipping operators here under for further details," the IMDO said.
Further information on these services and an interactive route map are available on the IMDO website .
