Illegal stash worth more than €150k seized at Dublin airport
Illegal cigarettes and cocaine worth more than €150k have been seized in two separate operations at Dublin airport.
Last night, officers from Revenue's Customs Service working with the Garda National Immigration Bureau found more than 2kg of cocaine.
Worth an estimated street value of €145,600, the drugs were concealed in a carry-on bag on a flight from Punta Cana, Mexico.
The bag allegedly belonged to a 48-year-old woman from the Dominican Republic. She was arrested and is due to appear in court later.
Earlier yesterday, a total of 22,600 cigarettes with a retail value of €10,530 were seized when a 23-year-old Romanian man was stopped and searched after he arrived on a flight from Chisinau, Moldova.
The man was arrested and appeared before Bridewell District Court last night where he was bailed to appear before Blanchardstown Court later this month.
