IHCA refuses to attend Labour Court talks

THE Irish Hospital Consultants Association (IHCA) is refusing to attend scheduled Labour Court talks to resolve issues surrounding work practice reform.

In an escalation of the dispute between the IHCA and the HSE, the executive's Barry O'Brien said that the decision could be seen as a decision to walk away from the Croke Park deal.

However, a statement by ICHA secretary general Martin Varley said that consultants had implemented reforms and had delivered "significant" savings.
