Jobs Minister Richard Bruton announced plans for Worldwide TechServices to establish its European headquarters in the city.

He said it was great news for Limerick and the surrounding area, and that ICT was a key sector for the Government's Action Plan for Jobs.

"Today's announcement that Worldwide TechServices is establishing a major operation in Limerick with the creation of over 60 jobs is a further indication of what is possible in this sector," Mr Bruton said.

"This is great news for Limerick and the Mid-West, and I am determined to build on this to attract more investments to Ireland and create the jobs we need."

The company provides custom infrastructure and service solutions for customers in the IT market across 82 countries.

Its new centre in Limerick will be responsible for sales and operations for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
