'I want the chance to make more memories' - Man (26) with six months to live launches 'Dream Fund'
Gary (26) has a list of things he wants to do before he dies
A 26-year-old man has set up a 'Dream Fund' to help him live his last few months to the full.
Gary Guildea from Balbriggan, Co Dublin was diagnosed for the third time with cancer in 2016.
With doctors saying he has six months left to live, he's determined to fulfil his life dreams and leave behind memories for his friends and family.
"I've been battling cancer all my life. I was first diagnosed as a baby but when it came back in 2014 for the third time I was devastated.
"Doctors say I now have six months left to live," Gary told Independent.ie.
On the top of Gary's list, he wants to take his girlfriend Yasmin Byrne on holidays.
"I just want to be alone with her somewhere nice and relax. I'd love to go somewhere tropical and just enjoy each other while we can. We've been going out for nine years and I'd like to make more memories with her."
Gary, who loves cars, says he wants to finish a special car project he has been working on so that he can leave something behind to his family.
"I'm not a person who ever asks for anything or looks for something for free but I just want to be able to enjoy the rest of my life," said Gary.
Gary is aiming to raise €5,000 as soon as possible so he can get a chance to "make more memories".
