Mr O'Leary, who had been a prominent local businessman and member of Mullingar Golf Club, died at his home last Thursday and his funeral took place at the Cathedral of Christ the King, in Mullingar, officiated by Fr Paul Crosbie.

Mr O'Leary, 77, was originally from Co Cork but had moved to Mullingar to set up a business named Tailteannn Textiles and also set up a pet food business.

Michael O'Leary had dedicated his two winners at the Cheltenham festival earlier this year to his father, who was undergoing chemotherapy at the time.

He is survived by his wife Ger and six children -- Ashley, Michael, Eddy, Caragh, Valerie and Ged.

His remains were buried in Ballyglass Cemetery outside Mullingar.
