HSE to be quizzed over drowning

THE death by drowning of an elderly hospital patient is to be raised with the Health Service Executive (HSE).

It is to be asked how Paddy Keeney (87), who suffered from dementia, disappeared from Killybegs Community Hospital hours before his body was recovered from the town's harbour.

Mr Keeney will be buried today in St Mary's Cemetery, Killybegs, having disappeared from the hospital shortly before noon on Friday.

Fianna Fail Donegal county councillor Brendan Byrne, said: "Questions are going to have to be put to the HSE as to how this tragedy unfolded and occurred."
