HSE in court over treatment of patient with schizophrenia
THE High Court has been asked to decide whether doctors in a psychiatric hospital can continue to administer treatment to a woman suffering from schizophrenia.
She has become resistant to most forms of medication used to treat her illness and is now being given a new drug which she is not resistant to, the court heard.
She does not want this treatment and previous temporary court orders have been obtained by the HSE allowing it. The case was adjourned for one week yesterday.
