Honeymoon cut short after cruise tragedy

A NEWLYWED couple have had to cut short their dream honeymoon cruise after five crew members lost their lives in a horrific accident.

Audrey Finnegan and Stephen Dwyer, from Lucan, Dublin, will be arriving home today after the tragedy, which struck only a day into their seven-day cruise.

The couple flew out to Gran Canaria following their wedding on January 31 to join the luxury Thomson Majesty liner on a cruise.

They told Radio One's 'Liveline Show' that five crew members were killed during a lifeboat safety drill.

"We are devastated that our honeymoon is over but you have to have a thought for the families of those who have died," said Audrey.
