IT’S not a sight Dubs are used to on a regular basis – as a fully grown Friesian cow trotted around busy shopping streets in the city centre this morning.

Shoppers on Dublin’s Grafton Street looked on in amusement as the animal casually made its way past some of the street’s most popular shops.

Cattle aren’t being herded in Stephen’s Green park however – the unusual sight was part of the promotion for a new play at the Gaiety.

Rhona the cow was accompanied by Damian Kearney and Stephen Jones as she had her day out.

She was gathering publicity for ‘Stones in his Pockets’, which opens in the Gaiety Theatre from Tuesday March 11th.

The play is a multi award winning tale of a quiet irish community turned upside down by the arrival of a Hollywood movie shoot.
