A MAN in his mid-30s has been released without charge in connection with a hit-and-run in Dublin last week.
The suspect was detained by gardai from Mountjoy garda station and questioned.
Keith Fay (34) was struck by a vehicle at Trinity Lane, just off Clonliffe Road, at about 1pm last Thursday.
The victim, who was on temporary release from prison, was transferred to the Mater Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
Separately, a man was seriously injured in a single-car crash in Bantry, Co Cork, in the early hours of yesterday.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses who were in the Bridge Street area between 3.30am and 5am to contact them.
