FRENCH movie heart-throb Christopher Lambert will headline the 21st Cork French Film Festival.
Lambert (52) -- star of such Hollywood epics as 'Greystoke' and 'Highlander' -- will join the founder of the Cannes Film Festival's directors' event Pierre-Henri Deleau in helping to give the Cork festival a high-profile launch to mark its 21st birthday.
Details of the festival programme -- which runs from February 28 to March 7 -- were unveiled at a gala function in Cork City Hall.
The organisers stressed that, thanks to the sponsorship of Bord Gais Energy, the festival has also been able to attract Oscar-nominated and BAFTA winning screenwriter Guillaume Laurant.
Festival director Nora Callanan said the 2010 event now promised to be the greatest ever staged.
"The festival has grown and developed over the years into one of national significance," she said.
Mr Lambert will fittingly present his latest film 'Cartegna'.
The screening will also be attended by the film's director Alain Moone, who is jetting in on February 28.
