IT was a case of 'Cash in the Attic' for one lucky man who could be in for a €1m payday after he visited an antiques roadshow.
Among the treasures is an item that may be worth at least €1m.
Organisers have refused to give details of the item for security reasons; however, an expert is flying in to meet the man privately.
Nigel Blackburn, an independent valuer who has appeared on a variety of TV shows including 'Flog It' and 'Cash in the Attic', was on hand to meet members of the public yesterday and put a price on their treasures.
He said he and his team of valuers met over 200 people during the course of the day and they expect to have seen at least 1,000 before the four-day roadshow draws to a close tomorrow evening.
He added that some "very interesting collections" had been viewed.
"One chap had a collection of military items, but we will be flying an expert over from England to go see him personally. [It] may be worth in excess of at least €1m," he added.
Hatton's said they had over €1m to spend at the roadshow, and Mr Blackburn revealed that they made offers to the vast majority of the people who sat before them.
"We probably bought 80pc of what was shown to us."
Dale Biddle, another valuer who was consulting clients yesterday, revealed he met a woman who had a six-carat cut diamond ring on a platinum setting. They offered her €60,000 – the biggest offer of the day – but she declined.
