Heroin worth €2.4m seized

Gardai seized heroin with an approximate street value of €2.4m yesterday as part of an ongoing investigation into organised crime.

Four men (three in their 20s and another aged 51) were arrested after officers from the Garda National Drugs Unit stopped and searched a number of cars just off the Naas Road at Kill, Co Kildare.

The men were taken to Clondalkin garda station in Dublin where they are being detained under the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. The investigation into organised crime in Dublin is continuing.
