Heavy burden of required reading

Teachers have to read the primary school curriculum, which consists of 23 books -- a total of 2,650 pages.

In addition, they are expected to read publications from the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment.

Many other organisations and agencies have also issued resource and information packs to schools on a variety of subjects, topics and initiatives.
