Security stepped up after investigation
Security at Beaumont Hospital is said to have been ramped up after an Irish Independent investigation revealed the extent of the trolley crisis in the hospital's emergency department (ED).
According to well-placed sources, security guards were yesterday quizzing people attending the ED with sick relatives or friends. It's understood security personnel were taking a stricter than usual approach when verifying people's reasons for being at the hospital. A journalist was also asked to leave the premises when questioned by security.
Tensions in the north Dublin hospital are believed to be high with staff thought to be under extra scrutiny from management following the exposé.
