Mark Norton (7) cannot lift his schoolbag, can play football for a only limited time and his ability to move changes daily - because he suffers from arthritis.

His condition is made more painful because he has been waiting for more than two years to get physiotherapy.

His mother Lorna says the HSE does not have a rheumatology physiotherapist in the Caragh area of Kildare to help her son.

"It's just really hard to be constantly fighting for services and watching your child in pain and not being able to do anything about it.

"The system is so slow and doesn't deal effectively with these children. They are just left literally waiting in pain," said Lorna.
