IRISH Independent Health Correspondent Eilish O'Regan has won the Inclusion Ireland Media Award 2011.
The award was presented in Galway over the weekend at the 50th annual general meeting of Inclusion Ireland.
Inclusion Ireland represents people with intellectual disabilities.
Ms O'Regan was nominated for a series of articles probing how the funds outsourced to non-profit organisations to provide services for people with disabilities by the Health Service Executive are spent and how executives are paid.
She was presented with the award by Inclusion Ireland chairwoman Frieda Finlay, chief executive Deirdre Carroll and Avril Webster, who nominated the journalist.
