Heading to Electric Picnic? Queue into Stradbally already 3km long

THOSE about to head off to Electric Picnic may want to stock the car with plenty of food and water – as the queue of cars outside of Stradbally already stretches for 3km.

The last big music festival of the summer takes place this weekend, with thousands expected to descend on the Co Laois village.

Some motorists have even exited their vehicles to get a breath of fresh air, due to the slow-moving traffic.

AA roadwatch have reported large volumes of traffic on the M7 southbound from J4 Rathcoole past J10 Naas.

Gardai had advised those intending to travel to the festival to leave in plenty of time.

Officers are working at the venue directing vehicles and trying to ensure traffic flows smoothly as possible.
