Hairy and scary seek stardom
IF you are a little hairy, a little scary and like the big screen, this may just be the perfect job for you.
A casting call for thousands of extras to play Viking warriors, wenches and 8th-century tradespeople drew a massive response yesterday.
More than 6,000 people auditioned for extras in the upcoming television mini-series 'Vikings'.
Long-haired rocker-types, ageing hippies and biker dudes and babes were in demand as more than 1,500 would-be actors crammed the Grand Hotel in Wicklow.
Another 5,000 aspiring extras turned up at Dublin's Filmbase on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Anyone interested in auditioning should log on to the casting department's Facebook page at Vikings-extras.
