A 21-year-old man has been shot in the latest gun attack in Dublin

A man has been shot in the leg in Dublin's latest gun attack.

The incident happened in the Coolock area in the city's north side at around 9.20pm.

The 21-year-old victim received a single gunshot wound to the lower leg at Moatview Avenue.

He was taken to Beaumont Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which were not thought to be life-threatening.

Investigating gardai have sealed off the area of the attack for a technical examination.

This is the second shooting incident in Coolock in less than a week.

A 22-year-old was shot in the leg and arm outside a shop in the Ferrycarrig Park area last Thursday.
