THE MOTHER of stabbing victim Alicia Brough has said her family will do their utmost to “ignore” thoughts of her killer John Geary and what he did to their daughter.
Speaking on RTE’s Morning Ireland, an emotional Maria Dempsey said they would do everything they can to bring some normality back into their lives.
“If we allow the evil that happened there to stay and remain in our lives, we will never get away from it. We will never escape it,” she said.
The grieving mum told of how they are attempting to restore “the loss and innocence” for her surviving children.
However Maria said the family, who are originally from England and moved to Ireland nine years ago, have no intention of leaving Ireland.
She also called for both men and women in similar domestic situations as Alicia’s friend Sarah Hines be aware of the danger they were in, so Alicia’s death “was not in vain”.
