Grant allows firm to create 70 jobs

A COMPANY that struggled to stay afloat during the boom is to create 70 jobs within three years.

ClearStream Technologies -- a medical devices manufacturer based in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford -- will expand after it received a grant through Enterprise Ireland.

Its CEO Andy Jones said the firm, which already employs 265 workers, would begin recruiting shortly for manufacturing jobs and a small number of highly specialised research and development positions.

The firm makes heart stents and balloon catheters, 99pc of which it exports.

Murex, a French financial software firm, which already employs 60 workers on Dublin's Shelbourne Road, is hiring another 30. The 30 new jobs will be in software development, business development and consulting.
