Government unveil plans to boost business and jobs
THE Government today unveiled a number of new measures to boost business and jobs.
A new microfinance loan fund of about €100m over 10 years was aimed at assisting about 5,000 start-ups or small businesses, according to Minister Richard Bruton.
These start-ups would receive mentoring and support through the county enterprise network.
He also announced a temporary partial-loan guarantee scheme.
This would support people who currently go to banks but are refused collateral, or who are in risk sectors where banks "turn them. Down.’’
Mr Bruton said he believed over 1,200 businesses would benefit.
The Taoiseach Enda Kenny said the Government's strategy was "not the end of any process" but was part of an ongoing one.
