LEADING figures from the world of entertainment and broadcasting were out in force last night to celebrate the fusion of 'The Dubliner' magazine with the 'Evening Herald'.
From today onwards, Michael O'Doherty's publication -- which is part of the VIP magazine group -- will feature in the 'Herald' every Thursday.
Mr O'Doherty described the move as "historic" at the launch event last night.
He said he was looking forward to bringing readers all the latest news, entertainment, interviews, listings, movies, music, the arts and eating out on a weekly basis in the 64-page glossy magazine. It will continue to be produced to by the journalists at 'The Dubliner'. The magazine will be printed at the Independent Newspapers plant in Newry, Co Down.
Among those who attended the event at the Gravity Bar in the Guinness Storehouse were RTE news anchor Anne Doyle and 'No Frontiers' presenter Kathryn Thomas.
Also present were Newstalk's Claire Byrne, RTE's Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh, broadcaster Eamon Keane, actress Leigh Arnold, TV3's Sinead Desmond and Xpose presenter Karen Koster .
