The great and good from the international bloodstock world gathered at the Goffs Orby sale of Irish yearlings on Wednesday and Declan McCourt, CEO of Jaguar Ireland, hosted a champagne reception at close of play. The Jaguar Pavillion was full with happy vendors and purchasers of what will hopefully turn out to be winning race horses on tracks around the world.
Chairman of Goffs Eimear Mulhern and CEO Henry Beeby were thrilled with the first day and why wouldn't they be. . . a yearling had sold minutes earlier for a cool €520,000.
Guests included Fozzy and Lucy Stack, Hubie and Flossie de Burgh, Vanessa Beeby and her son George, father and son bloodstock agents Peter and Ross Doyle with trainer Richard Hannon Jnr and Harry Herbert from Highclere Racing, who had the privilege of growing up in what we recognise as Downton Abbey.
They enjoyed fare provided by Natasha Mann, of Kildare Kitchen, along with champagne from Tattinger.
Outside, the brand new Jaguar F-type sports car was being much admired by all guests. . .
