Global village: Melanie Griffith stays mellow in Aspen
Oscar-nominated Melanie Griffith took some time out to go skiing in Aspen, and the 59-year-old glowed with health while spending time in the posh Colorado ski resort.
According to aspenchamber.org, longer, sunnier days and surprising powder storms make Aspen a spring skiing paradise. Biking is popular in the resort in spring, when the trails are thawing and town is warming up.
And if many people head out of the beautiful mountain town in the heart of the Colorado Rockies once spring rolls around, it is just when the snow is melting and the river is rising, that the fish are feeding like crazy in the deep pools.
It makes fly fishing a great pastime in Aspen around the month of April.
Plus, with the buzz of the winter crowds gone, many local lodgings and businesses around town offer various deals and discounts to visitors in spring.

Keep your pooch sitting pretty
Pets.webmd.com has some tips on how to stop your dog getting carsick. Your dog will experience fewer nauseating visual cues if he faces forward while you're travelling, rather than looking out the side windows. Plus lower your car windows a couple of inches while the car is moving. This helps balance the air pressure inside the car with the air pressure outside.
