HOLLYWOOD star Brendan Gleeson has been entertaining his fans through music this week.
The actor, who has enjoyed roles in 'The Guard', 'Harry Potter' and 'Braveheart', needs no introduction to cinema goers, but it is less well known that the Dubliner is a highly accomplished fiddle player.
He stepped out on Wednesday night with musicians Francis Gaffney, Dirk Powell and Mike McGoldrick to perform at the Mermaid Theatre in Bray, Co Wicklow -- and a full house of 250 turned up to hear him perform.
Gleeson brought along a mandolin and a violin, playing a mix of Irish and American tunes with his band members.
The show took place as part of the Music Network's 2014 programme.
Gleeson and the group will perform in a string of towns across the country over the coming days, bringing Irish audiences the chance to experience the best of live music at affordable prices.
The tour, which will finish up on January 17 in Kildare, is providing a brief break from the movie set for father-of-four Gleeson, who is currently working with Cillian Murphy on 'In The Heart of The Sea'.
