The British actress and singer was in town for the announcement of this year's venue for the popular 7UP Christmas on Ice rinks.

The terrace on top of the Arnotts store on Henry Street will be transformed into a winter wonderland with a special rink this year -- and a second rink will also be open once again at the RDS this month.

"Ice skating is such a festive activity that everybody can get involved in and have fun with," the 'Love Actually' star said.

The Arnotts rink will be open from November 12, with tickets priced at €7. This year a number of themed events will be held at the rinks including a school skate, ice dancing displays and a silent disco on ice.
