Getaway car in Vincent Ryan murder stolen months before attack
Funeral details announced for country's latest murder victim
The getaway car used in the fatal shooting of the brother of a murdered Real IRA chief was stolen more than four months before Monday's attack.
Vincent Ryan, brother of murdered IRA chief Alan Ryan, was shot dead outside his partner’s house on McKee Road, Finglas earlier this week.
Gardai investigating the murder of Vinnie Ryan have made another appeal for information on tracing the whereabouts of a silver VW Golf registration 07-KE-10213 between October 13, 2015 and February 29, 2016.
The car was taken during a burglary on October 13 last year at Cluaindara, Derrinstown, Co Kildare and was found burnt out at Red Lane, Newhall, Naas, Co Kildare on February 29 - a day after the murder of Mr Ryan.
The funeral of the country’s latest murder victim will take place in Donaghmede next Tuesday.
Vinnie Ryan's body will be reposed at the family home in Donaghmede next Monday.
The funeral will be held the following day at The Church of the Holy Trinity at 10am, after which Mr Ryan’s body will be buried at Fingal Cemetery.
He is survived by his partner, their infant daughter, his mother and his four siblings.
The funeral of his brother Alan, a republican who was murdered in 2012, also took place at The Church of the Holy Trinity amidst a large paramilitary display.
