TWINK has revealed that she was the last person broadcaster Gerry Ryan called before he died.

The panto star – whose real name is Adele King – said the two had been friends since childhood and regularly offered each other support.

She said their friendship wasn't well known or publicised and she misses him "more than words can say".

Speaking on the 'Late, Late Show' last night she said she was told she was the last person to speak to the 2FM DJ before his body was found in his apartment on Leeson St on April 30, 2010.

"Well two very nice boys in blue, (they told me) I don't know if you want to hear this or not...you were the last person in the whole world he ever phoned, it was the last call on his mobile," she told Ryan Tubridy.

She also cried during the interview as she recalled how she considered giving herself and her two daughters – Chloe, now aged 22 and Naomi, now aged 17 – a deadly dose of sleeping pills during a dark period in her life.

The 61-year-old said she wished for death after her husband had an affair.
