Gardai unsure of motive for park triple shooting
GARDAI investigating a triple shooting in a park in west Dublin at the weekend have not yet established a motive for the incident.
Senior officers said last night they were pursuing a number of lines of inquiry to find a reason for the savage attack, which left one man critically ill and another two seriously injured.
The men were shot at with a revolver while they were drinking vodka and orange in Corduff Park in Blanchardstown on Sunday morning. Two gunmen pulled balaclavas over their faces as they approached and then opened fire, hitting one victim in the head and the others in the head and body.
Gardai said they believed the victims had recently fallen foul of a local crime gang but were keeping an open mind at this stage on the identity of the attackers.
David Morgan, who was shot in the head, remained critically ill last night in Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown.
