Gardai treating Roscommon fire in which girl (5) died as suspicious

Gardai are now treating the fatal fire at a house at Termon Road, Boyle, Co Roscommon where a five-year old girl was killed as suspicious.

The fire was discovered between 2.30am and 3.00am – a man in his late twenties and two children escaped from the house and are being treated at Sligo General Hospital.



The scene is currently being examined by the Garda Technical Bureau and the Deputy State Pathologist Dr Jabber will carry out a post mortem examination on the body of the deceased girl this evening at the hospital.



Gardai are appealing for anyone who was in the Termon Road area of Boyle or anyone with any information about this incident to contact the incident room at Boyle Garda Station on 071 9664620.
