Mobile phone footage which in which a group of youths and a woman can be seen attacking security staff at a shop on Dublin's O'Connell Street is being examined by gardai.
Investigating gardai are hopeful the footage will help them identify the assailants.
As part of their investigation, they have secured more CCTV recordings of the scenes.
The footage which shows a gang attempting to batter down the door of a Spar on Dublin's main thoroughfare caused outrage after it was revealed by the Irish Independent earlier this week.
This footage could now play a central role in the garda investigation into the attack.
Detectives from Store Street will now speak with the shop workers who sustained injuries to their arms and bodies.
Gardai are understood to have secured CCTV images from businesses in the area and hope to use these, as well as the eyewitness footage, to prosecute the young males as well as the man allegedly robbing the shop.
Independent Finian McGrath said such attacks had become "all too common an occurrence".
Irish Small and Medium Enterprise chief executive Mark Fielding said gardai had been working to clamp down on loitering outside shops and restaurants but that such practices were causing a dramatic reduction in footfall.
