Gardai to quiz star player Galvin after pub incident
GARDAI have made contact with Kerry GAA star Paul Galvin and expect to interview him shortly about an incident in a pub in the centre of Dublin on Wednesday night.
Officers were called to Kehoe's pub in South Anne Street after receiving a complaint that a customer had been assaulted there.
But the incident has been described as "handbags at 20 paces" by Labour senator John Whelan, who witnessed the confrontation between Mr Galvin and two members of RTE's Green Tea production team, comic Oliver Callan and his associate James McDonald.
Gardai hope to take statements early next week from Mr Callan and Mr McDonald and will find out then if either of them intends to make a formal complaint. Mr Galvin, who left the pub after the argument, was in touch with the gardai yesterday and indicated his availability to be interviewed.
