Gardai to keep peace at horse fair
A LARGE garda presence will be in place tomorrow at the Smithfield Horse Fair, which is being held for the first time since a gun attack disrupted the market last month.
Two men were shot while another was attacked with a slash hook in fighting linked to a feud between the members of two extended traveller families.
Local businesses and residents in Smithfield have called on the Government to shut down the fair. The Lord Mayor of Dublin Gerry Breen has backed the calls.
