Gardai take law into own hands

MORE used to enforcing the law, three experienced garda officers returned to college to brush up on their knowledge.

Garda Brendan Condon, Inspector Padraig de Burca and Sergeant Paddy Kennedy -- all based in Tipperary -- have just graduated from University of Limerick with full honours degrees in law.

The gardai spent the past four years completing the course, as well as their daily duties in uniform.

"It was 17 years since I came out of the garda training college in Templemore, so it was something different to get used to. Hopefully it will help within my own job," said Garda Condon.
