GARDAI are appealing to the public for help in identifying the body of a man recovered from the River Corrib in Galway.
The man, who is believed to be young and Irish, was retrieved on Saturday morning but gardai have not been able to establish his identity.
Attempts were made to revive him but he was pronounced dead at University Hospital Galway.
He is described as a white male, six feet tall, clean shaven, with green eyes, a thin build and a receding hairline.
He was wearing black chinos, a black T-shirt with a white hoodie and black canvas shoes. He was also wearing distinctive wooden rosary beads.
Gardai at Mill Street station in Galway have asked anyone with information to contact them on 091-53800.
