FARMLAND in Meath and north Dublin is being searched by Garda teams in the hunt for a man missing since he was abducted and beaten a fortnight ago.
Ciaran Noonan, 29, was kidnapped after being assaulted by a gang in the East Wall area of Dublin on October 20.
He has not been seen since and fears are growing he is dead.
Gardai at Store Street carried out a number of searches of land in the Ashbourne area of Meath on Monday before moving on to an area of land from Dunboyne to Trim on the Old Trim Road.
Other searches are planned in Meath and North County Dublin.
Detectives have appealed for farmers, walkers, landowners and hunters or other people using or crossing lands who come across anything unusual or suspicious to contact them.
Mr Noonan, a father-of-one originally from Blanchardstown and a drug user, was bundled into a black VW Golf car on Russell Avenue in the East Wall area by several men.
The car was recovered in the car park of an apartment complex in Ashbourne.
